It is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the 39th Sapporo International Cancer Symposium from July 6th to 7th, 2021 at Royton Sapporo, Sapporo, Japan.

Sapporo International Cancer Symposium has been operated by Sapporo Cancer Seminar Foundation since 1981. The symposium has been held every summer, mostly in Sapporo, and has shown great success.

The major theme of the 39th Sapporo International Cancer Symposium is "Cell reprograming and cancer: Impact of cancer epigenetics". I hope this symposium will provide an inspiring program, covering a spectrum of hot topics in cancer epigenetics and cellular reprograming that defines cancer and/or pre-cancer cell identity. The symposium also focuses on genome/epigenome interaction, molecular mechanisms of malignant progression, integrated animal models, and targeting epigenetic abnormalities as novel therapeutics.

The symposium also provides a good opportunity in which renowned researchers, leading scientists, young postdocs and students will get together and discuss the up-to-date topics in the field. I encourage you to participate an exciting meeting in the beautiful season in Sapporo. Sapporo offers fascinating highlights such as Odori Park, Mount Moiwa, Moerenuma Park, Sapporo Clock Tower, night life in Susukino and beer gardens.
